Afghanistan Internet Quality stands 156th in world
A recent report by the International Telecommunication Unit (ITU) indicates that internet services in Afghanistan have not improved in recent years as the nation’s internet quality ranks 156th in the world among 167 countries.
According to the report, South Korea is at the top of the list followed by Denmark and Iceland in the second and third positions, respectively.
The United Kingdom, Sweden, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Holland, Hong Kong, Norway, Japan, Finland, Australia, Germany, USA, New Zealand, France, Monaco, Singapore and Estonia have obtained more than 8 out of 10 points in this year’s rankings.
The report claims that Afghanistan’s neighboring countries have been more successful in improving their internet services quality after 2010. In 2010, Afghanistan had received 1.37 points, and this year it has obtained 1.83 points.
As per the report, Iran ranks 91st, Pakistan ranks 143rd and China ranks 82nd.
African countries including Tanzania, Mozambique, Congo, South Sudan, Malawi, Madagascar, Ethiopia, Chad, Burkina Faso, Bissau and Eritrea are at the bottom of the list behind Afghanistan.
