Casualty toll of Taliban’s Monday twin attacks in Kabul rises to 116 people
As a result of a twin blasts from Taliban militants near Afghan ministry of defence in capital Kabul, 25 people lost their lives and 91 others were injured.
Afghan interior ministry spokesman Sediq Sediqi confirmed that at least 25 people lost their lives as a result of the twin blasts and 91 others were injured.
The incident took place at around 02:30 p.m. local time just outside Afghan defense ministry in capital Kabul and was followed by a suicide attack believed to have targeted first explosion scene.
The first explosion was remotely detonated, while the second one was a suicide attacker who blew himself up wearing military uniform.
Afghan president Mohammad Asharf Ghani strongly condemned the incident and said the enemies of Afghanistan have lost dares to face Afghan forces on the battleground and instead launch attack on public places such as cities, mosques, and so…
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said his group had carried out the attack.
