Former MP Mursal Nabizada killed by her own bodyguard: Kabul police

Former Afghan MP Mursal Nabizada who found shot-dead almost one month ago in her home in Kabul was killed by her own bodyguard, Taliban Police said on Friday.

Khalid Zadran, the spokesperson for the Kabul police command twitted on Friday that the former bodyguard of Mursal Nabizada has been arrested by intelligence operatives of the Taliban over shooting of the MP.

Zadran said the arrestee has confessed to the crime.

Mursal Nabizada was shot dead along with her another security guard named “Ismail” in her home in Kabul on January 14.

Zadran only identified the killer as “Malyaar” without further information but said the investigation continues.

Mursal Nabizada was among the few political figures who remained in Afghanistan after the Taliban seized power in August 2021.
