At least 92 militants including 9 foreigners killed: ministry of defence
At least 92 armed militants including 9 foreigners have been killed during the newest raids of Afghan forces in past 24 hours, ministry of defence said.
Afghan security forces in their fresh operations to eliminate insurgents have killed at least 92 militants including 9 foreign insurgents and wounded 48 others. Ministry of defense said in a statement.
According to the statement, a number of operations conducted in 18 of 34 Afghanistan provinces including Nangarhar, Laghman, Ghazni, Paktika, Paktia, Khost, Kandahar, Farah, Ghor, Balkh, Faryab, Jowzjan, Sar-e-Pul, Baghlan, Takhar, Kunduz, Badakhshan and Helmand, that during which 92 armed militants including 9 foreigners were killed and 48 others were wounded.
The ministry of defence’s statement updating Afghan forces’ routine operations briefed the newest operations as follows:
In the operations conducted in Khoshamand, Zirok and Khair Kot districts of southeastern Paktika, 40 Taliban insurgents were killed and 17 others were wounded. During the operations, 4 vehicles of the insurgents were also destroyed.
At least 30 armed insurgents including 9 foreigners were killed and 13 others were wounded in the operations conducted in Chamkani and Jani Kehl districts of southeastern Paktia province.
The operations conducted in Dahan-e-Ghuri district of northern Baghlan province left 17 armed militants killed and 12 others wounded.
Moreover, during the cleanup operations jointly conducted by Afghan national police and Army in Pashton Kot district of northern Faryab province and Alishang district of eastern Laghman province, at least 5 Taliban militants were killed and 6 others were wounded.
No insurgent groups including Taliban have made comment on the reports.
Afghan ministry of defense also added that during these newest operations, 11 national army soldiers suffered martyrdom.
