Photos of Mi-25 helicopters delivered by India released
Office of National Security Advisor on Thursday released the photos of the 3 Mi-25 helicopters which have been delivered by India to support Afghan national security forces.
The photos were released by the Office of National Security Adviser showing the delivery of the gunship helicopters with National Security Adviser Hanif Atmar and Indian Ambassador to Afghanistan Amar Sinha inspecting the gunships.
This comes as reports emerged Wednesday that India has completed the delivery of 3 Mi-25 gunships to Afghanistan with the fourth and final gunship to be transported next week.
Sources privy of the development in New Delhi have said the gunships were transported to Afghanistan by a C-17 transport aircraft of the Indian Air Force.
The decision for the delivery of Mi-25 gunship helicopters was concluded during the recent visit of Afghan National Security Adviser Mohammad Hanif Atmar to New Delhi.
It is expected that the announcement of the gunships to Afghan Air Force will be made by Prime Minister Narenda Modi during his visit to capital Kabul on Friday.
Although his trip to Kabul has not been officially confirmed sources in New Delhi have said Modi will visit Kabul after leaving Russia.
Modi will inaugurate the newly built Afghan parliament building which has been constructed with the financial support of Indian government with an estimated const of $90 million.
