Taliban shadow district chief arrested in Herat

According to the official Taliban’s shadow district chief for the Kashk-i-Kohna district has been arrested in western Herat province on Tuesday.

Jilani Farhad, the governor’s spokesman, said that Mullah Abdul Raoof was held by police while conducting anti-government activities in Shahr-i-Naw area.

A case against the Taliban leader had been referred to detective organs.

Separately, two other individuals were arrested on charges of supplying weapons to militants in Oba district, the spokesman added. A vehicle, five weapons and some ammunition were also seized from the detainees.
