To fight against COVID-19, India does everything
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday that India shall do everything possible to help humanity’s fight against the COVID-19.

Responding to U.S. President Donald Trump’s last night’s tweet thanking the Indian prime minister for ensuring the supply of Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) tablets to the United States in its fight against the pandemic, Modi said that India and the United States shall jointly win the fight against the virus.
“The India-U.S. partnership is stronger than ever. India shall do everything possible to help humanity’s fight against the COVID-19. We shall win this together,” tweeted Modi.
Trump thanked Modi Wednesday for finally deciding to supply HCQ. He tagged Modi in his tweet, saying that extraordinary times require even closer cooperation between friends, and that India’s gesture won’t be forgotten.
Last weekend India completely ruled out the export of the drug through a notification. But, suddenly on Monday it decided to supply the anti-Malaria drug to the United States, saying it would be supplied to “some nations” which are particularly badly affected by the pandemic.
The United States has become the worst COVID-19 affected nation as over 14,800 people have died and more than 434,000 people detected with the virus.India is one of the biggest manufacturers of the drug in the world, besides China. The drug is in a huge demand across the globe amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
On Tuesday, Trump threatened India of “retaliation” if it decided not to supply the drug to his country. Soon after India announced that it will supply the drug to some nations suffering from the pandemic.
